Ward commenced civil engineering operations in 1973 and has offices in Sydney and Newcastle, a workforce of 150 people, including 40 professional and supervisory staff, and an annual turnover in excess of $70 million.
Ward has expertise and experience in a diverse range of civil engineering work including city excavation, shoring and underpinning, bulk earthworks, roadwork, services installation, marine work, water and sewage treatment plants, landscaping, site preparation and remediation for commercial, residential, industrial and mining projects.
The company’s staff pride itself on working in harmony with clients, providing a service that brings projects to completion on time and to the required quality and budget. With lasting client relationships being a fundamental aim of the organisation, Ward has a long list of satisfied clients within the private and public sectors and has carried out several successful alliance projects, contributing to the design process and sharing the risks and rewards.
The company is accredited with the NSW Department of Commerce Best Practice Contractor as well as the Australian Government Building and Construction OH&S Accreditation Scheme. Ward is also prequalified to undertake projects with the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority. Ward's Business Management System is quality certified to AS/NZS 9001:2000 and incorporates occupational health and safety management certified to AS/NZS 4801:2001 and environmental management certified to AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004.
