BP Newcastle Infrastructure Project
Ward's role in the project was to construct a bund wall and confinement layer to prevent any environmental damage in the unlikely case of a fuel spillage. This was constructed in a fully operational fuel terminal.
The scope of work includes:
- Construct approx 1100 metres of Bund Wall, on average 2.4 metres high with an in ground footing.
- Supply and placement of approx 18,000m2 of membrane barrier and 250mm thick stabilised confinement layer.
- Other associated concrete works such as internal subdivision bunds, Tanks Aprons and Oily Water Treatment Pit.
- All associated drainage and pits.
- Earthworks including excavation reuse and removal of material.
- Maintaining temporary bunds at all times during construction.
- All associated demolition including removal of existing walls, structures and subdivision bunds.
- Installation of 400 metres of external roads and access ramps.
