Outline:
Ward had been contracted with the task of upgrading Butler Road. This project will be undertaken in three stages. Stage 1 will see the preparation of site and demolition, with the construction of temporary pavement to widen the existing road. Stormwater drainage will then be installed, followed by the construction of new kerbs and pavement. Stages 2 to 3 will involve the completion of stormwater drainage, further construction of kerbs and pavement, as well as a roundabout at the intersection between Butler Road and Ross Smith Avenue. Works will be conducted at night to minimize the impact of the construction on airport tenancies, traffic, and the general public.
Scope of Works:
- Site preparation and minor demolition.
- Construction of temporary pavement to widen existing road
- Construct Stage 1 stormwater drainage, working upstream
- Construct new kerbs, following behind stormwater drainage installation
- Complete asphalt wearing course to Pavement Types 1 and 3
- Construct temporary pavement to widen the corners of the intersection of Butler Road and Ross Smith Avenue, to facilitate traffic movements
- Construct roundabout including DGB20 subbase/base, concrete apron, pavers and subsoil drain
- Mill and re-sheet Ross Smith Avenue and complete asphalt wearing course to Pavement Types 1 and 3
- Complete signage and line marking, lay turf, reinstate and disestablish site
