In This Together: Ward Civil marks Reconciliation Week

Reconciliation Australia’s 2020 theme “In This Together” resonates at this time when many families and co-workers have been separated by social distancing.

With our ‘In This Together’ posters displayed at every one of our project sites, Ward are proud to be participating in a number of events during this reconciliation week, with COO Brian Mahon set to speak at a yarning circle, hosted by Ventia.

This year, the Ward team have been working hard at developing new and existing relationships with indigenous-owned subcontractors and suppliers.

We have also changed our reporting requirements for our existing cohort of subcontractors, to learn how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples contribute to the broader supply chain.

Ward is in the final stages of developing our very first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) with formal sign-off expected within the next couple of months. We are very excited to commence our first RAP, which outlines the meaningful ways in which we can increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in our business.

Ward is a community sponsor of the NRL Sydney Roosters. This means we are major sponsors of the Rooster’s NRLW team, and the Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup indigenous women’s under 18s team.

Thank you to the Ward team and our partners who have contributed to the formulation of our RAP and celebration of Reconciliation Week.
