Golf in memory of our founder
The weather was kind to us on the second annual Peter Ward Golf Day last Friday. After a beer and BBQ lunch, we had 18 teams of 4 teeing off at 1pm for a shotgun start. Moore Park Golf’s course provided well, as did the drinks cart, circling the course to keep players refreshed. The Peter Ward Trophy was at stake, plus the usual titles of longest drive, closest to the pin, best putter of the day etc. The most challenging of them all we think was the “yellow ball challenge”, where teams attempted to play their yellow ball on each hole and still have it in their possession after the 18th. It was a perfect day to celebrate the life of Ward’s founder, Peter Ward, whose favourite pastimes were golf and socialising with his friends and staff. Although the golf skills left a lot to be aspired to we think Peter would be proud that we continue to uphold his values after eight years of his passing.
