Project Engineer

About the opportunity

Our estimating team have secured a number of new projects within the Sydney civil and remediation sector. We are looking to appoint a Project Engineer to join and offer support to one of our successful project teams on a new major project. The key objective of the Project Engineer will be to provide support to the Project Manager, who is responsible for the delivering of small to large size projects.

Duties

1. To actively participate in the development of overall job schedule with project team.
2. Forward planning for procurement of resources in advance of required time for job.
3. Together with the project team, monitor daily work activities for production and effectiveness of resources and implement improvements with respect to activity costs.
4. Interact with project team in developing and implementing site safety manual.
5. Conduct Safe Work Method Statement reviews, site inductions and raise permits
6. Develop and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) and other inspection check sheets.
7. On site job costing cost projection.

Who we are looking for

1. 3-5 years’ experience in a Project/Site Engineer role in civil construction works
2. Road pavement construction to RMS specification and/or earthworks experience is essential
3. Tier 2 – Tier 3 experience is preferred
4. Sydney market experience is preferable, but not essential
5. A valid driver’s license
6. Confident in the use of Microsoft Office suit. Any experience in using Microsoft Project will be highly regarded but not necessary.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
8. You will have an enthusiastic, engaged attitude and an eagerness to learn.
9. A team-focus with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels.
10. A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative
