We are looking to appoint a Senior Project Engineer to join and lead one of our successful project teams to ensure the successful delivery of small to large size projects.
Responsibilities may include:
· To develop and take a lead role in the overall job schedule with project team, ensuring project milestone dates are met
· Defining construction materials, methods and quality standards and producing specifications, plans and drawings
· Forward planning for procurement of resources in advance of required time for the job – this can be planning up to 6 weeks in advance
· Ensuring the effective organisation and direction of site labour and the delivery of plant, materials and equipment and running with detailed programs for site activity coordination
· Ensure relevant documentation required for importing material, plant and labour to site is provided prior to arrival – this includes maintenance history, insurances, certificates of conformity, etc.
· Lead project team in developing and implementing site safety manual
· Provide weekly updates to the project team
· Conduct Safe Work Method Statement reviews
· Obtaining construction site samples and testing of samples
· Studying drawings and specs to estimate costings and prepare cost plans in line with budgets
· Develop and review I.T.P’s and other Quality Assurance documentation
· Prepare monthly report for project including compiling costs to date, cost summaries etc
· Carry out receipting through accounting software
· Contract Management
· Liaison point for clients and external consultants
Ideal qualifications/experience:
· Min 2 years’ experience in a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager role in civil construction works
· Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related field
· A valid driver’s license
· Confident in the use of Microsoft Office suit. Any experience in using Microsoft Project will be highly regarded
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· A team-focus with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels
· A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative
