Panel Discussion with Sydney University Civil Engineers

Earlier this week WARD hosted a panel discussion at University of Sydney, in conjunction with the Sydney University Civil Engineers (SUCE), on preparing graduate engineers to work in industry.

Our panel members were Pamela Henderson (Head of Technical Services – Transport for NSW), Sianne Bennett (Head of HR – Gamuda Australia) and Alice Bowers CEng MICE (Project Manager – AECOM) with moderation by WARD COO Brian Mahon.

This event was an opportunity for Engineering students of all stages of study to hear from and engage with industry leaders in their fields, regarding the opportunities and experiences open to them on achieving their Engineering degree.

Through the Q&A format, the common thread of all panellists was to encourage students to participate, think broadly, experience different facets of the industry, communicate, take opportunities when they are presented and to not the be afraid to get out of their comfort zones, by attempting the many and varied challenges that may come their way.

An informative and enriching evening for all!

Congratulations to organisers Queena Wang and Anjuhan Saravana Sydney University Civil Engineers (SUCE) and a big thank you to our panel members.
