Overview: The former Willoughby Council site in the middle of the Chatswood CBD was redeveloped by Council.  A new council building incorporating the largest library in NSW, theatre, visual and performing arts space, council offices, retail shops and a 400 space carpark was constructed.

Scope of works:

  • Excavation of 100,000m3 of clay, shale, siltstone and sandstone
  • Remediation of asbestos impacted material
  • Remediation of contaminated waste
  • Installation of shoring and foundation piles
  • Shotcrete retaining to perimeter
  • Temporary ground anchors and rock bolts
  • Temporary face stabilization
  • Detailed excavation of footings
  • Hardcore drainage layer
