Overview: The project was Stage II of the Lady Robinsons Beach Restoration Works. Ward completed Stage I in 1997. Ward constructed the rock groynes using 60% of the total quantity volumes from recycled and processed rock from a city excavation project. This project was the Winner of the 1998 New South Wales Earth Awards Category 2.
Scope of works:
- Construction of 6 rock groynes, 2 concrete panels and steel pile groynes
- Dredging and placement of 300,000m3 of sand
- Transplanting 6,000m2 of sea grass
- Construction of time boat ramp and piles for solar navigation lights
- Re-vegetation of dune embankments
