Overview: construction of four new aircraft parking bays capable of accommodating A380 aircraft.  The project involved the construction of 80,000m2 of flexible and rigid pavements.

Scope of works:

  • Demolition of existing pavements and structures
  • Bulk excavation and disposal of 80,000t of existing fill
  • Installation of 350m of 1650dia stormwater line, 270m of 600dia stormwater line and 360m of concrete slot drain
  • Installation of hydraulic services
  • Construction of new HV sub-station, apron flood lighting, aircraft navigation system and associated in ground cabling
  • Construction of 20,000m2 of concrete pavement (10,000m3)
  • Construction of 60,000m2 of flexible asphalt pavement
  • Widening of an existing bridge structure
  • Excavation and disposal of asbestos impacted materials
