Overview//
< BACKWard was engaged by DM Roads to carry out road widening work at the intersection of Bigge Street and Hume Highway (Sydney Road), Warwick Farm. The objective was to upgrade the intersection to accommodate an additional lane on Bigge Street, enabling more vehicles to turn onto Hume Highway, and to create a new dedicated left turn lane on Hume Highway for Bigge Street southbound traffic, thus reducing traffic delays.
Scope of Works//
- Demolition of two properties
- Traffic management
- Clearing and grubbing
- Demolition of kerb and gutter, footpath, driveway, pipes, conduits, and pits
- Provision of dedicated left turn bays from Hume Highway into Bigge Street and from Bigge Street into Hume Highway, including earthworks, stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter, pavement, and footpath
- Adjustment of utilities
- Modification of traffic signals
- Ancillary works including signposting, pavement marking, and landscaping
