Ward successfully upgraded, widened, and realigned 3.2km of the Great Western Highway, a critical road in the Blue Mountains. As part of the project, essential water and telecommunication assets were relocated and protected. All works were conducted under live traffic within the tight road corridor and sensitive local environment. The project was completed without disrupting the flow of traffic despite the challenges posed by the project’s location.

Scope of Works//

  • Removal of existing road infrastructure
  • Earthworks, stormwater drainage, subsurface drainage, and pavement upgrade
  • Construction of six new retaining walls
  • Relocation and protection of critical utility assets
  • Reconstruction of local roads and access tracks
  • Property adjustments
  • Planting and maintenance of landscaping
