Ward entered a strategic partnership with Ventia and AECOM to deliver the Transport for NSW capital works projects on the Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract (SRAPC) in the Western Parkland Zone. SRAPC is a nine-year asset management contract to manage all Transport for NSW road corridor assets within the Western Parkland Zone. This is a customer focused contract which aims to improve the safety and performance of the road network through several forward-thinking initiatives. The Western Parkland Zone incorporates 919km of roadway, including more than 150 bridges, 5,000 culverts, 900 slopes, 700 traffic signals, 180km of roadside barriers, and cycleways and traffic signs.

As Ventia’s strategic civil delivery partner, Ward is responsible for carrying out targeted improvement projects across a range of these assets as well as general Transport for NSW improvement projects, to achieve key network performance objectives.

Scope of Works//

  • Tactical intelligent transport system works: TCS intersection and ITS system upgrades
  • Tactical corridor works: slope remediation, and culvert remediation and replacement
  • Tactical bridge and tunnel works: concrete remediation, structural and underwater inspections, scour protection, bearing and joint replacement and remediation, structural steel works including protective coating installation and remediation, and remediation and installation of anti-gawk screens and handrails
  • Special projects and improvement works: intersection upgrades, network safety improvement, ITS & TCS upgrades, road widening, pavement construction, major signage installation, disaster relief/recovery, emergency management, and event management
