Annual Safety Day
The 5th Annual Ward Safety Day was held last week with a strong focus on the welfare of all who work within the business.
The day was started with an introduction by COO Brian Mahon on the importance of taking time to reflect on how best to work safely in our high risk environment, followed by CEO Julia Ward’s overview of the business performance during the last year and outlook for the future.
Our WHS team gave a briefing on WHS performance against targets during past 12 months and highlighted lessons learned.
Specialist presentations on the day included:
- Chain of Responsibility – Terry Grace
- Managing Silica – Alex Thomson – EP Risk
- Community & Stakeholder Management – Danielle Amos
- Suicide Prevention – Kieran Toohey – Mates in Construction
These informative sessions were well received by the team and provided an opportunity to raise any safety and welfare improvement suggestions to help us over the course of coming year.
