Roosters NRLW Launch Night
The Sydney Roosters held their 2019 NRLW Season Launch at the Easts Leagues Bondi Junction on Tuesday evening. Guests included Roosters Chairman Mr Nick Politis AM and Ward CEO Julia Ward, along with the playing Squad’s families and friends. Hosted by Roosters legend Anthony Minichiello, guests enjoyed speeches and presentations that gave insight into the upcoming season. Julia spoke of what it means to Ward to be a foundation partner of the Roosters NRLW side, and also a key Community partner. Preparations are well underway for the new season’s opening round on 14/15th September. In an exciting development the NRL has announced the Roosters will this season host a standalone fixture, separate to the men’s NRL Telstra Premiership Finals, for the very first time, when the Roosters host the Dragons for the local derby at a ground steeped in Rugby League history in Leichhardt Oval in Round Three of the competition. NRLW is an elite four-team competition which will be contested during the 2019 NRL Finals Series featuring the Sydney Roosters, St George Illawarra Dragons, Brisbane Broncos and New Zealand Warriors
