The Ward traffic management business provides professional, safe and efficient traffic management services for major projects across NSW.
Our team ensures that our services are expertly coordinated, meticulously planned, safe and cost effective. Our broad experience ranges from simple stop/slow management to complex major construction and maintenance projects, for Ward projects as well as for external clients including NSW Ports, Transport for NSW and Ventia.
Ward holds G10 accreditation with Transport for NSW and is accredited by SAI Global. Our in-house team has long standing relationships with State bodies, helping us to efficiently plan and implement safe traffic management solutions for our clients. By taking a practical approach and focusing on safety, we consistently deliver excellent outcomes for our clients, workers and the community.
Traffic management programs
Ward’s experienced team uses industry best practice to implement Traffic Management Programs (TMPs), from simple stop/slow management, road closures, diversions, and the installation of advance warning signage, to highly complex traffic setups on Transport for NSW roads. We are proactive with ongoing training and inductions for all our team members so they can ‘think on their feet’, work independently and deliver excellent outcomes on every project.

Our traffic management arm provides the full suite of state-of-the-art traffic management equipment required for the successful completion of complex roadworks projects.

Traffic planning
Ward’s services include the development and implementation of TMPs, Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS), staging plans and communications strategies. Our in-house traffic planning team works closely with estimating and project delivery teams to develop site-specific plans for clients in accordance with the Transport for NSW Traffic Control at Worksite Manual (TCAWS).
Traffic data analysis
Ward’s implementation of innovative data software provides real-time visibility of traffic flows to help plan and manage projects. In understanding traffic patterns by day, week or month, we optimise road closure times to minimise disruption and effectively plan site layouts. Our access to timely and accurate traffic information helps us keep road users informed while also protecting the health and safety of our workers.
Communication strategies
At Ward, we understand the importance of proactively communicating with stakeholders and the community regarding traffic projects. We assist with letterbox drops, electronic message boards and door knocks in residential areas. Our team is also trained and experienced in addressing sensitive projects methodically, respectfully and professionally. We work closely with State bodies including the Transport Management Centre (TMC) and the Sydney Coordination Office (SCO) to develop appropriate strategies for our clients.
