World Creativity and Innovation Day 2024

Civil engineering requires innovation to work within specifications of a project and develop new solutions to improve efficiency when delivering services.
In 2017, the United Nations designated 21 April as World Creativity and Innovation Day to raise the awareness of the role of creativity and innovation in all aspects of human development.

This #WorldCreativityandInnovationDay, we are highlighting innovative works by WARD’s engineering team from our site at Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre.

For this complex project linear site works required exacting plans and alternative ground stabilisation solutions. Undertaking earthworks at a height of 40m was extremely dangerous and challenging, as was the installation of permanent material including reinforcement, nails, concrete and blocks. Working on a live channel in often wet conditions, adequate controls and diversions were necessary for the works to occur safely, while not restricting storm water flow in an all year-round operation.

See the progress made through innovations designed by the WARD team during the project execution.
